Cyberbullying

The Cyberbullying Workgroup produces white papers examining unexplored areas of research on cyberbullying. These include the definition and operationalization of the term “cyberbullying,” which is currently overgeneralized; the poorly-delineated overlap between bullying and cyberbullying; and a review of bullying prevention programs that include cyberbullying modules. Other specific areas of research requiring additional focus addressed by the group are the satisfaction with and use of social media in children; the need for longitudinal research focusing on cyberbullying; and the perceptual changes that occur in digital communications that may lead to cyberbullying between children.
